Weld RE-4, Windsor School District.

Where does the Weld District 6 and Windsor School District RE-4 boundary change?
On W. 20 th Street, the boundary changes at 77 th Avenue. The overall Greeley-Windsor boundary jogs substantially through West Greeley and is published by the transportation department of each school (RE-4 Windsor Map attached).

Is the boundary line subject to future change?
Don’t bet on it. This line was set at a time when West Greeley was at 23 rd Avenue. A historic vote by the Weld RE-4 Windsor School District and/or its constituents would be required. Because of the tax revenue distributions and the existing rights of all the taxpayers in the Windsor School District, it is highly unlikely that such a consensus would occur.

Is their Bus Service to Windsor?
Yes. District RE-4 provides daily bus service to its designated subdivisions in West Greeley, and is expanding routes to accommodate all new students. A current map is available at www.windsor.k12.co.us/distmap.htm . The phone number for transportation questions is 970-686-2811.

What about Greeley/Weld School District 6 Open Enrollment options?
Policy JFB of the School Book Policy Manual provide for Open Enrollment Transfer (attached). In a nutshell, open enrollment allows students who provide their own transportation to choose the school they wish to attend, subject to space available. In the event of no space available at the school of choice, an alternate school may be selected. Parents are encouraged to seek accurate and up to date information about open enrollment on the Weld District 6 Web Site www.greeleyschools.org (English/Board/board policy manual/J/JFB) and at the school of their choice.
